Eye Emergencies

Please call us if you have acute symptoms.

We will do our best to find an appointment for you.

In the case of very acute and serious problems (see below), please urgently visit an eye casualty in a hospital.

First aid for eye emergencies

Burns and chemical burns- Rinse, rinse and rinse! Rinse your eyes immediately with eyewash or clear water!
Foreign body- do not try to remove it yourself!
Injuries- do not rub your eyes!

See an eye doctor or a hospital with an eye department as soon as possible!

If you have one of the following symptoms, you should urgently consult an ophthalmologist:

Sudden onset of visual disturbances (flashes, floaters, dark shadows, double vision)
Acute vision loss in one or both eyes
Injuries and trauma
Red and painful eyes
